Scratch Project


Scratch Animation

Classwork (ALL WEEK)
Objectives:
1. Students will use ALICE and Scratch to learn basic programming.
2. Students will illustrate a scene from Of Mice and Men (McCartney's class)
3. Students will illustrate a poem to celebrate Black History (Romero's class)

Process:
1. If you feel ready to move on to Alice 3D programming, see me or start experimenting with the features, run the tutorial and check the FAQ

2. If you are in Mr. Romero's class, you will continue to create an animation for a poem. Check MY EXAMPLES on the Scratch website.

3. If you are in Ms. McCartney's class, you will work on her assignment to illustrate a scene from Of Mice and Men. You may use THIS SITE to help you choose a scene

Assessment DUE FRI. FEB 26
Complete 15-45 secs of animation which includes
  • 2 or more sprites (at least one hand drawn/modified) (20 points)
  • 2 or more costumes for each sprite (20 points)
  • Appropriate background or backgrounds (10 points)
  • Movement and interaction (30 points)
  • Appropriate timings (10 points)
  • Dialog or text from the song/poem (10 points)
  • Extra Credit - use of a poem by black poet (10 points)
100 points + 10 points EC
